About the Character
The Balrog, also known as the Valaraukar, is an evil fiery beast with a menacing humanoid shaped body. They weren’t always evil. Originally, they were Maiar, spirits whose purpose were to shape the world of Eä. But they became seduced by Melkor, the first Dark Lord of Eä and the source of their evil. When the Fellowship of the Ring took to pass below the Misty Mountains, they caught the attention of the fallen Wizard Saruman. Silence alone could not grant this band of heroes safe passage, for Saruman has alerted a dreadful Balrog. Gandalf knew their escape would come at a mighty price, and he would not pass through the Dwarf realm's doors.

About the Bust
Inspired by Durin’s Bane from Peter Jackson’s cinematic adaptation from Lord Of The Rings: Fellowship Of The Ring (2001). This limited edition collectible bust by Queen Studios captures the Balrog as we saw him on the big screen. The Queen Studios team have studied the Balrog closely, expertly capturing the hulking monster’s fiery eyes, demonic horns and gigantic fangs.
