Wonder Festival Summer 2021 - A Look Back
Wonder Festival kicked off on June 13, and what a weekend it was. The weather in Shanghai wasn’t the best, but the entire team was excited to make some spectacular announcements and releases. And the fans were eager to see what the next few years hold. It has been a sensational year for Queen Studios so far, and Wonder Festival is one of our biggest yearly highlights. Initially, there were some minor hiccups during the run-up to the festival. Some would say we bit off more than we could chew. But I say, we have a LIFE-SIZE HULKBUSTER. So, for everyone who couldn’t make it to Wonder Festival 2021, and for everyone who missed our Facebook premier. We have put together a festival companion of everything we displayed at Wonder Festival 2021. Thanks for the support and remember, we love you 3000.
DC
2020 & 2021 have been a couple of tough years, not just domestically but internationally. It has been incredibly hard to do almost anything. Here at Queen Studios, we’ve had some significant setbacks because of the pandemic. However, we’re now approaching some normality and our team has bounced back as strong, if not stronger, than before the pandemic. And we’ve put together an extensive collection of DC collectibles which you guys are going to love. Granted, some are still in production, but we thought rather than let you guys wait, it’d be best if we show you what we’re working on.
THE DARK KNIGHT
The first lot of DC collectables, and some of our most detailed, are DC’s The Dark Knight Statues. These are some of our best hyper-realistic collectables, and everything you see is movie accurate. Although most of our busts and 1/2 scale statues are created using silicone. Our artists sculpt these head sculpts in polystone, and they’re then hand painted with incredible detail and accuracy to make them look as human as possible. In total, Queen Studios presented five Dark Knight statues. The first three are 1/3 scale recreations of Batman, Catwoman and The Joker. The fourth statue is a work in progress, 1/6 scale statue of Catwoman. And the fifth, a 1/4 scale The Joker statue

ZACK SNYDER’S JUSTICE LEAGUE
It has been a bumpy ride for DCEU over the past few years. Competing against the success of Marvel Avenger’s and previous classics, and their own The Dark Knight Trilogy is a tricky task. After the poorly received Justice League (2017), most thought all hope was lost. However, in 2021 that changed. Zack Snyder reignited his vision and created a new cut. The infamous Snyder Cut. Although the Snyder Cut was around 4-hours long, it was hugely popular and received glowing reviews. To keep the momentum going at this year’s Wonder Festival, Queen Studios presented four new DCEU collectibles. These included the work in progress Darkseid and Steppenwolf busts. As well as a 1/4 statue of Darkseid.

DARK KNIGHTS
Going back to the roots of all these amazing stories, our artists thought we’d bring you something from the page, rather than the screen. After a lot of debate about scale and story, our team decided to recreate one of the Batman’s most perilous stories to date, Dark Knights. We’ve remade two statues from this series. One of the Batman, sat on a throne, based on the variant cover of Dark Knights #1 by Tim Bradstreet. And the second recreates a different Batman, one from an alternate world, The Batman Who Laughs.

1/4 SCALE THE BATMAN WHO LAUGHS
1/3 SCALE BATMAN MUSEUM LINE STATUE
The final DC product introduced at Wonder Festival 2021 was the 1/3 Scale Batman Museum Line Statue.
MARVEL
As many of you now know, we have an extensive Iron Man collection, and it’s always growing. At this year’s Wonder Festival our team announced eight new additions to our MCU Iron Man collection, including a 1/1 life-size scale of the MARK 44 HULKBUSTER. We brought along our finalized 1/1 Scale Life Size Thanos Bust with the added Infinity Gauntlet, as requested by you guys. The final Marvel piece we showcased at WF2021 was something our team have been excited to showcase for a while now, The World War Hulk, Hulk on Throne 1/4 scale statue.

THE SPECIALIZED COLLECTIBLES
After the astounding success of our Alita life-size 1/1 scale bust and TGIF series, we’ve chased down some studios and managed to bag some big characters you guys are going to love. The first is a 1/1 life-size bust of the tall and menacing Balrog from the Lord of the Rings. The second is life-size 1/1 scale statue the cybercriminal from the Matrix. We also brought along Alita just to show off.

As we say farewell to Wonder Festival Shanghai for another year, we want to thank you again for your incredible support. We really wouldn't be able to do any of this without you, and we're really looking forward to China Joy at the end of July.
As a bonus for making it all the way to the bottom of this post, we can also let you into a little secret. The 1/6 Catwoman should be complete for the event, and we could possibly be displaying one more 1/6 scale figure/statue from the DC lineup!
Thanks for reading and see you at China Joy!
