Queen Studios' Collector Story - Po Ung
Join Queen Studios in this edition of collector's stories. Where we get a look into the collections we help to make possible. This week Queen Studios had the oppertunity to speak to bust and statue collector Po Ung. Po gave us a quick glance into his office and home collection, and shared his thoughts on why he collects, and what are his favourites.
WHAT'S YOUR NAME AND WHERE DO YOU COME FROM?
I’m Po Ung, and I’m from Melbourne, Australia.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN COLLECTING?
I have thought about collecting for a long time, but I have only been collecting for two years.
WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST STATUE?
It was a Majin Vegeta statue by TSUME, taken from the anime Dragon Ball Z. It’s a 1/4th scale, made from polystone. It had a total run of 3000, so it’s quite rare.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE FRANCHISE TO COLLECT?
There are way too many franchises nowadays, but if I had to choose a few, I’d say Marvel, DC, Transformers and Anime.
WHICH CHARACTERS ARE YOUR FAVOURITE?
My favorite are characters taken from the franchises above, Optimus Prime, Wolverine, Magneto, Goku.
WHAT COLLECTIBLES ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO PRE-ORDERING?
The Queen Studios’ Optimus VS Megatron diorama, I can’t wait to see what you guys and artist Boda (博达) have created.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE QUEEN STUDIOS COLLECTIBLE?
It’s Queen Studios’ Thanos Bust 1/1 scale bust. It’s truly awesome.
HOW MANY COLLECTIBLES DO YOU OWN?
I own around 28.
HOW DID YOU DISCOVER QUEEN STUDIOS?
Through Facebook and various collector’s websites.
HOW DO YOU DISPLAY YOUR COLLECTIBLES?
I use Costco shelves in my office, and Ikea shelves in my bedroom.
WHY HAVE YOU CHOSEN TO COLLECT STATUES AND BUSTS, AND NOT ANOTHER FORM OF MEMORABILIA?
Statues have more intricate details, and personally they’re more defined as an art piece.
And that's all for this edition of Collector's Stories. Let us know in the comments what you think is your favourite Queen Studios' collectable
